The Saskatoon Correctional Centre is seeking a well‑organized and motivated Admitting and Discharge Clerk to support the Inmate Records area within the Admitting/Discharge Unit. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, dependable, and able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
In this role, you will help ensure the accuracy and integrity of confidential inmate records by collecting, verifying, and entering information into corrections‑based databases and internal software systems in accordance with established procedures. Responsibilities may include filing, reviewing documents for accuracy, supporting the admitting and discharge processes, and preparing or organizing required documentation.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and a commitment to confidentiality are essential. This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of inmate records and supporting the efficient administrative operations of the facility.
The successful candidate will be flexible, highly motivated, and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with varied responsibilities. Knowledge of relevant computer hardware and software applications, CJIMS, and associated terminology is required.
Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by one year business college or two years related office experience.
You will have knowledge of:
- applicable computer hardware and software applications specifically Microsoft Office and CJIMS software
- modern office practices and procedures
- warrants and other legal documents and sentence calculations
You will have the ability to:
- establish and maintain complex files and keep a variety of office records
- make decisions in accordance with acts, regulations, and departmental policies and procedures.
The person we are looking for must have excellent telephone and interpersonal skill, takes initiative in organizing work, works independently and unsupervised, and practices confidentiality 100% of time.
