Fire, Police & Public Works Departments look to MTC for all their electronic repair and installation needs.</p><p>We are currently recruiting for a full-time <strong>Automotive Installer</strong> to join our upfitting team at MTC!</p><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Installing all equipment necessary to modify brand-new vehicles into police and emergency vehicles. This includes routing and installing wire harnesses, controllers, partitions, auxiliary batteries, light bars, push bumpers, power supplies, component trays, and consoles.</li><li>Installation and commissioning of various types of vehicle systems</li><li>Install electrical wiring, connect electrical fittings, drill holes, soldering and perform all physical tasks associated with modifying vehicles for the acceptance of emergency-related equipment</li><li>System diagnostics and troubleshooting skills</li><li>Installation and removal of all equipment on emergency vehicles, reinstalling interior trim, retrofitting and upgrading</li><li>Develop wiring routes throughout the vehicle for the most efficient wiring path and enable future replacement and/or troubleshooting</li><li>Work with customer and fleets on site</li></ul><p><strong>Physical & Working conditions</strong></p><ul><li>Work will involve frequent standing, bending, twisting, stooping and kneeling.</li><li>Fieldwork will be required at times as well as varying work hours. A company vehicle is provided.</li><li>Ability to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 lbs</li><li>In shop environment</li><li>Comfortable with working outdoors if required</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience working with automotive electrical systems;</li><li>Experience working with automotive mechanical systems;</li><li>Have a valid driver’s license;</li><li>Team player and possess and exhibit a positive attitude</li><li>Detail-oriented and focused on quality workmanship</li><li>EVT Certified preferred but not required</li><li>Whelen Trained preferred but not required</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>310k, 310S Licensed or Radio Communications Technician Certificate preferred but not required</li><li>2-3 years previous experience working on Emergency Vehicle installations and electronic preferred but not required</li><li>Pre-employment Police Background check is mandatory</li><li>Clean drivers abstract</li><li>Full COVID-19 vaccination is required to visit customer locations as per their company policies.</li><li>High School Graduate or Equivalent</li></ul></p></p>
