<p><b>Now Hiring: Mechanical Technician (Building Operator)</b></p><p> Location : <b>Mississauga, ON</b></p><p> Duration : <b>1-Year Contract Monday-Friday 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM</b></p><p><br></p><p>We are seeking a skilled <b>Mechanical Technician (Building Operator)</b> to support day-to-day facility and infrastructure operations for a leading organization's R&D environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with strong mechanical, HVAC, and building systems experience who can work independently and keep critical systems running smoothly.</p><p><b> Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Start up HVAC and R&D equipment each morning, including fume hoods, exhaust fans, solvent pumps, RO water systems, compressed gas cylinders, and unit ACs.</li><li>Conduct daily building rounds to monitor IAQ and overall HVAC performance.</li><li>Perform minor HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting (filters, belts, pumps, valves, water treatment).</li><li>Operate and monitor Building Automation Systems (BAS).</li><li>Respond to work orders promptly and provide general building support.</li><li>Maintain and monitor tank levels for onsite solvent tanks.</li><li>Support chiller plant operations, building automation, and piping-related work.</li><li>Act as an active member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).</li><li>Coordinate with contractors as needed.</li></ul><p><b> Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>4th Class Power Engineer certification <b>preferred</b>; BES certificate accepted.</li><li>Experience operating steam boilers and maintaining steam plant equipment.</li><li>Strong background in facility, infrastructure, or building operations.</li><li>Ability to work independently-no onsite infrastructure supervisor.</li><li>Must be available for on-call support.</li></ul><p><b> Work Environment</b></p><ul><li>Fully onsite (no remote option).</li><li>Standard shift: <b>7:30 AM - 3:30 PM</b>, Monday to Friday.</li><li>Fast-paced R&D facility environment requiring strong ownership and reliability.</li></ul><p></p>Create Your Resume First
