About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Civil Construction Superintendent
to oversee and manage day-to-day field operations on civil infrastructure projects across Toronto and the GTA. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in supervising crews, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of civil construction projects including roads, bridges, utilities, earthworks, and site development.
- Supervise field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure work meets project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones are met.
- Enforce health and safety policies, conducting regular site inspections to maintain a safe work environment.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to address challenges and resolve issues in the field.
- Track progress, prepare daily/weekly site reports, and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Ensure effective use of manpower, equipment, and materials to maximize efficiency.
- Lead site meetings and provide clear direction to crews and subcontractors.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement on the job site.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in civil construction, with at least 1 years in a Superintendent role.
- Strong knowledge of civil infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, utilities, earthworks).
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse crews and subcontractors.
- Proven ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Solid understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software and MS Office is an asset.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to sites across Toronto and surrounding areas.
