Job Description

Looking for Community-Minded People in Sonoma County, California

A family in the
Windsor / Santa Rosa
area is working to build a
small team of people
who enjoy spending time in their community and sharing ordinary, everyday activities with a
young person who has a disability
.

This is not a traditional job posting.

It's an invitation to be part of someone's everyday life—showing up for simple, ordinary things that build connection over time.

This young person is bright, relational, and wants more of what many of us want: to get out of the house, spend time in the community, and have regular rhythms that bring joy and ease. What matters most is spending time with people who are steady, kind, and genuinely interested in building trust.

What this might look like:

  • Going out together for a manicure or pedicure and making it a regular ritual
  • A low-key evening out—music, a cafĂ©, a calm bar atmosphere, or a walk
  • Spending time on a simple hobby or creative activity at home
  • Supporting predictable routines that help the day flow more smoothly

This role is intentionally flexible.
Some people may want a regular weekly shift. Others may be a great fit for
one evening a month
or for
a specific shared activity they genuinely enjoy
—support can be shaped around what feels like a good mutual fit (for example:
"Wednesday 6–8pm = nails and a cozy café"
).

This could be a good fit for someone who:

  • Cares about inclusion and belonging in everyday life
  • Is calm, reliable, and respectful
  • Enjoys gentle routines and being in community spaces
  • Has experience in disability support, education, recreation, or care—or simply brings patience and curiosity

If this speaks to you—or if someone in your network comes to mind—please message
Rebecca
directly or leave a comment and she will follow up privately.

If you're interested, please respond by sharing a little about yourself and what draws you to this role.

We'd also be grateful if you shared this with people you know in
Sonoma County and the greater Bay Area
.
