This is a <strong>succession role</strong> designed to work closely alongside our current <strong>Customs Compliance Manager</strong>, with the opportunity to step into the full leadership position upon their retirement.</p><p><br></p><p>This is more than a job—it's a career path.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>As our new <strong>Customs Compliance Specialist</strong>, you will:</p><ul><li>Partner closely with the Customs Compliance Manager to ensure our operations meet all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.</li><li>Step into a supervisory role right away, leading the Compliance department’s administrative staff.</li><li>Serve as a subject matter expert in Customs Tariff classification across a variety of industries.</li><li>Review and validate tariff classifications, valuation, origin declarations, and overall regulatory compliance.</li><li>Communicate directly with clients to clarify customs requirements and provide tailored compliance advice.</li><li>Support internal training initiatives, assist with audit preparation, and help document internal procedures.</li><li>Collaborate with other departments to strengthen quality assurance and streamline processes.</li><li>Bring a team-first mindset, offering support to Senior Raters and cross-functional teams as needed.</li><li>Be a go-to resource for internal teams looking for guidance on customs rules and procedures.</li><li>Take an active role in a planned succession strategy, transitioning into broader responsibilities over time.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Who We Are</strong></p><p>We’re Border Brokers — a dynamic and technologically progressive Canadian customs brokerage, consulting, and freight forwarding organization with nearly 40 years of industry experience.
