<p>Role and Facility Information</p><p>The Island Health Department of Medical Imaging is seeking a full-time General Radiologist for the North Island hospitals in Comox Valley and Campbell River.</p><p>These facilities opened in the fall of 2017, and medical imaging services include: general x-ray, two fixed MRI, on-site CT, fluoroscopy, mammography, ultrasound, and interventional procedures, all within a fully functional PACS environment. Additionally, the Comox Valley Hospital offers nuclear medicine services.</p><p>Eligible candidates must hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Radiology and full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.</p><p>The position includes procedures such as CT, MRI, ultrasound, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, breast imaging, and basic non-vascular interventional procedures. The successful candidate may choose to reside in either Campbell River or Comox.</p><p>Start date: as soon as possible.</p><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>May be eligible for additional remuneration according to the Rural Subsidy Agreement (RSA), including:</p><ul><li>Recruitment Incentive: up to $10,000 (pro-rated based on FTE)</li><li>Relocation: up to $15,000 (amount based on the current location)</li><li>Fee Premium: 6.93%</li><li>Annual Flat Fee: $10,739.52</li><li>CME payments: $3,000 in years 3 and 4, and $6,000 after year 4</li></ul><p>More details at Rural Practice Subsidiary Agreement - Province of British Columbia (gov.bc.ca).</p><p><strong>Communities</strong></p><p>The beautiful waterfront communities of Campbell River and Comox are co-located (57 km apart), offering access to recreational activities and outdoor pursuits, ideal for a balanced lifestyle.</p><p>Comox Valley Airport offers daily non-stop flights to Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, and seasonal service to Mexico.
