<p><p>We are excited to announce that River Ridge 1 Retirement Residence, our most luxurious residence located in beautiful Winnipeg Manitoba, is seeking a dynamic and passionate Director of Care to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to lead in a state-of-the-art retirement residence and make a meaningful impact on the lives of our residents while helping to shape the future.</p>
<p>As the <b>Director of Care</b>, you would be responsible for the coordination and implementation of resident care, based upon pre-established standards, to ensure quality of life for each individual resident.</p>
<h3>Requirements</h3>
<ul>
<li>Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the relevant Provincial Nurses College.</li>
<li>Management experience 5 years (preferred)</li>
<li>Retirement or Health Care for 5 years (preferred)</li>
<li>A seasoned professional is preferred.</li>
<li>Current CPR and First Aid and N95 training</li>
<li>Experience with the RHRA, Retirement Homes, or long-term care nursing is desirable.</li>
<li>Experience with Dementia/Alzheimer’s care is an asset.</li>
<li>Skill in planning, coordination, delivery and supervising a comprehensive nursing care program.</li>
<li>Must demonstrate excellent compassion, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.</li>
<li>Must stay current with changes to legislation, regulation and nursing policy changes and participate in mandatory educational in-services.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Duties</h3>
<ul>
<li>Planning, directing, coordinating, and supervising the overall nursing program for residents which would include the implementation of nursing practices and policies.</li>
<li>Being responsible for the assessment, admission and discharge of residents.</li>
<li>Engage with residents and their families to address concerns, resolve complaints, and review suggestions as appropriate.</li>
<li>Maintaining contact with residents to ensure a high quality of care.</li>
<li>Working in cooperation with the Executive Director to hire, direct, train and schedule nursing personnel</li>
<li>May recommend reprimand, suspension or discharge of employees.</li>
<li>Completing required monthly reports for both the Executive Director and Senior Management.</li>
<li>Being responsible for control and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and supervising the drug administration program, where applicable, including the administration of medication by all registered staff.</li>
<li>Performing other duties, as required.</li>
