<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Introduction</strong>:<br />We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced <strong>Electrical Powertrain and Control Systems Engineer</strong> to join our engineering team. This role involves designing electrical powertrains comprising DC motors, electronic control systems, batteries, and power transmission devices. The person will design the electronic control system architecture and components. The individual will also be responsible for optimizing the powertrain system for a wide range of applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, powertrain electronics, control systems, and energy storage solutions, with a focus on high-efficiency, reliable, and scalable designs.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong>:</p><ul><li><strong>Powertrain Design</strong>: Design and optimize the powertrain for various applications like power wheelchair and power assisted devices, and consumer electronics.<ul><li>Select appropriate motor types (brushed, brushless, stepper) based on application requirements.</li><li>Analyze motor performance parameters (torque, speed, efficiency) and select the design for optimal performance.</li><li>Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure motor integration with other system components.</li><li>Work on battery chemistry selection and battery charging circuits.</li><li>Analyze and optimize battery life, efficiency, and <span >charging/discharging</span> cycles.</li><li>Ensure safe integration of battery packs with motor controllers, including thermal management and overcurrent protection.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Motor Controller Design</strong>: integrate and optimize motor control systems, including hardware and software components.<ul><li>Design and test motor driver circuits and controllers (PWM, BLDC, H-Bridge circuits, etc.).</li><li>Develop algorithms for motor control, such as speed regulation, torque control, and position control.</li><li>Implement sensor feedback systems for efficient motor operation and fault detection.</li><li>Work with embedded systems and microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, PIC, or ARM-based platforms).</li></ul></li><li><strong>Electronic Control System Design</strong>: Design and optimize electronic control system for efficient power management in DC motor and actuator applications.<ul><li>Design electronic control system to control DC motors, actuators, and batteries for efficient operation in different environments to achieve desired performance requirements</li><li>Will need to have basic understanding of communication protocols so control system can interface with external devices</li></ul></li><li><strong>Testing & Validation</strong>: Perform tests and validations to ensure the reliability and performance of motors, controllers, electronic control, and battery systems.<ul><li>Conduct simulations, bench testing, and field testing to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve issues in prototype and production environments.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Collaboration & Documentation</strong>: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, firmware, and product engineers, to bring designs from concept to production.<ul><li>Provide detailed documentation for designs, testing procedures, and performance reports.</li><li>Support product lifecycle management, from design, prototyping, to production scale-up and product update<strong>Qualifications</strong>:</li></ul></li><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Power Electronics, or a related field.</li><li>Proven experience 5 years in designing powertrains and electronic control systems.</li><li>Proficiency preferred in simulation tools CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).</li><li>Experience with embedded systems and microcontroller-based design (e.g., STM32, Atmel, or similar platforms).</li><li><p>Knowledge of power electronics, including inverters, converters, and motor drive circuits.</p></li><li>Familiarity with energy storage technologies (Li-ion, LiFePO4, etc.) and battery management systems (BMS).</li><li>Experience in hardware/software integration and troubleshooting.</li><li>Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (UL, IEC, ISO, etc.) related to motor systems, controllers, and battery safety.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li><li><p><strong>Preferred Skills</strong>:</p></li><li>Experience in electric vehicle (EV) or renewable energy system design.</li><li>Familiarity with PCB design and manufacturing processes.</li><li>Expertise in thermal management solutions for high-power electronics.</li><li>Knowledge of CAN bus or other industrial communication protocols.</li><li><p><strong>Additional Information</strong>:</p></li><li>Opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in the electric vehicle, robotics, and renewable energy sectors.</li><li>Collaborative work environment with cross-functional teams.</li><li>Competitive salary and benefits package.</li></ul></p></p>
