Embedded Software Engineer

<p>Insight Global is seeking an Intermediate Embedded Software Engineer to join a top avionics company in Ottawa. This role involves developing and integrating embedded software solutions for aviation and connectivity systems. Ideal candidates will have strong technical expertise in C/C++, Linux environments, and networking, with a passion for innovation and hands-on problem-solving.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Required Skills & Experience</b></p><p>- Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline</p><p>- 3-7 years of experience in embedded systems development with advanced proficiency in C and C++ (versions 17-20, preference for C+).</p><p>- Proven expertise in Linux-based development, including Yocto Project for custom Linux distributions, experience with Single Board Computers (SBCs) and building scalable embedded Linux solutions.</p><p>- Strong background in IP networking protocols and architecture within embedded environments. - Skilled in microcontroller programming, especially STM32 platforms, and developing firmware for RTOS.</p><p>- Solid understanding of SDLC and ability to translate system-level requirements into software solutions.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Nice to Have Skills & Experience</b></p><p>- Aerospace or avionics industry experience.</p><p>- Knowledge of satcom, modems, aircraft connectivity (satellite, cellular, Wi-Fi).</p><p>- Familiarity with Docker, Jira, Confluence, Git for configuration management.</p><p>- Exposure to DO-178 standards.</p><p></p>
