Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team. This role will handle all aspects of estimating, cost tracking, and change order management. The Estimator will play a critical role in preconstruction, project handoff, and ongoing financial control, ensuring profitable project execution and supporting the company’s growth strategy
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed estimates for civil, boardwalk, and golf course projects, including takeoffs and pricing.
- Manage all tenders, RFPs, and informal quote processes.
- Coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing and maintain cost database.
- Develop and track project budgets from award through completion.
- Monitor actual costs versus budgets, providing regular cost reports and insights.
- Create, price, and track change orders, ensuring timely submission and approval.
- Support project managers and operations with scope clarifications and handoff documentation.
- Continuously update estimating databases with real-world cost data for improved accuracy
Qualifications
- 5+ years of estimating experience in civil or heavy construction (boardwalk/golf experience is an asset).
- Strong understanding of cost control, change order processes, and construction contracts (CCDC preferred).
- Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software.
- Excellent Excel and data analysis skills for cost tracking.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with field and office staff.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
