With a strong reputation for quality, safety, and integrity, they continue to deliver exceptional results on a diverse range of projects. They are seeking a <strong>General Accountant</strong> to join their growing team and support the company&#39;s day-to-day financial operations.</p><p><strong>Position Overview:</strong></p><p>The <strong>General Accountant</strong> will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing full-cycle accounting activities, and supporting the finance function to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a dynamic construction environment.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Manage full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.</p></li><li><p>Prepare and process monthly bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations.</p></li><li><p>Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.</p></li><li><p>Support job costing, project accounting, and WIP reporting for construction projects.</p></li><li><p>Maintain and reconcile sub-ledgers and prepare supporting schedules as required.</p></li><li><p>Prepare and file HST, WSIB, EHT, and other government remittances.</p></li><li><p>Assist with financial statement preparation and liaise with external accountants during audits.</p></li><li><p>Support payroll processing and related journal entries as needed.</p></li><li><p>Identify and recommend process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.</p></li><li><p>Provide general administrative and accounting support to the finance and project teams.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</p></li><li><p>Minimum <strong>3-5 years of full-cycle accounting experience</strong>, ideally within the <strong>construction or related industry</strong>.</p></li><li><p>Experience with <strong>job costing and project-based accounting</strong> is an asset.</p></li><li><p>Proficiency with <strong>Sage, Yardi</strong>, <strong>Jonas</strong>, or a similar construction accounting software is preferred.</p></li><li><p>Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting principles.</p></li><li><p>Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.</p></li><li><p>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.</p></li></ul></p></p>
