<p><b>Job post summary</b></p><p><b>Date posted:</b> September 10, 2025</p><p><b>Pay:</b> CA$25.00-CA$30.00 per hour</p><p><br></p><p><b>Job description:</b></p><p>HR Generalist/Manager, Part-Time</p><p>Location, Downtown Toronto</p><p> Type: Part time, three or four days per week, paid hourly (potential for role to be full-time or freelance)</p><p> On-site: Hybrid, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in-office.</p><p> Reports to: CEO and management team.</p><p> Collaborates day-to-day with Operations and Recruitment Managers/Consultants, and supervises the Office Manager/Administrative Assistant supporting designated HR tasks.</p><p><br></p><p>About the Company</p><p>Founded in 1997, ZSA Legal Recruitment is Canada's largest national legal recruitment firm specializing in the headhunting, recruitment and placement of lawyers, partners, legal support staff and law firm management.</p><p><br></p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><p>Strategic HR and operations</p><ul><li>Serve as the primary HR contact for leaders and employees, provide timely advice and hands-on support</li><li>Meet with the CEO to translate business goals into practical people plans and quarterly priorities</li><li>Build and maintain the annual HR calendar, anniversaries, birthdays, office holidays and closures, performance cycles, and engagement cadence</li><li>Monitor jurisdictional changes that affect our recruitment practice across Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, and British Columbia, and partner with external legal counsel on required compliance actions</li><li>Lead workplace health and safety compliance and programs, policies, training, incident logs, and WSIB reporting as required</li><li>Oversee internal hiring with smooth handoffs to managers and the Administrative Assistant/Office Manager</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Talent acquisition support</p><ul><li>Partner with hiring managers to define internal recruitment and manage the recruitment cycle</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Onboarding and offboarding</p><ul><li>Own end to end onboarding, provisioning checklists, first week plans, probation milestones</li><li>Run offboarding, recover assets, revoke access, and collect insights through exit feedback</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Policy, compliance, and risk</p><ul><li>Maintain an up to date Employee Handbook and HR policies, Ontario ESA, OHSA, AODA, human rights, privacy</li><li>Maintain health and safety documentation and the Joint Health and Safety Committee, where required</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Benefits, leaves, and total rewards operations</p><ul><li>Administer benefits enrollment and changes with Manulife in partnership with Accounting</li><li>Guide leaders and employees through leaves, accommodations, and return to work plans</li><li>Support compensation reviews, market checks, and job leveling frameworks</li></ul><p><br></p><p>HR data, systems, and reporting</p><ul><li>Own HRIS employee data and workflows, hire, change, termination, permissions, reporting</li><li>Produce monthly people metrics, headcount, attrition, hiring pipeline, engagement, training completion</li><li>Maintain clean employee files and access controls</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Culture, engagement, and development</p><ul><li>Plan holiday and summer offsites with the support of the Administrative Assistant/Office Manager</li><li>Coordinate training, compliance modules, and manager development</li><li>Promote equity, diversity, and inclusion practices in everyday operations</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>CHRP or CHRL in progress or completed is a requirement</li><li>Two or more years of progressive HR experience, ideally in professional services, recruiting, or fast paced small to midsize companies</li><li>Strong working knowledge of Ontario employment law, OHSA, AODA, human rights, and privacy, exposure to Quebec is an asset</li><li>Hands on HRIS administration experience, ideally with Humi</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication, discretion, and relationship building skills</li><li>Organized and action oriented, able to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines</li></ul><p><br></p><p>NOTE: Please email your application to , with the subject: HR Generalist.
