Job Description

  • Perform implementation migration activities for Database records and structures such as IDMS Elements/ Records/ Processes/Dialogs/Maps/Subschemas to different databases.
  • Perform DMPS and IDMS File maintenance
  • Monitor the IDMS instances by checking the databases logs and IDMS file spaces. Report any issues and work on resolutions.
  • Monitor and tune the DBMS.
  • Analyze database growth, running/supporting weekly scheduled batch reports on DBMS database areas and monitor database growth from the previous week to help trend and predict growth.
  • Engage in performance and capacity management of the DBMS.
  • Use PMDC to perform IDMS system/DB performance and tuning.
  • With assistance from IDMS system installers review batch and OPER statistics such as but not limited to Active Tasks, Active Users, DB I/O, Run Units, and LTERM Storage to ensure system resources are healthy.
