This role requires expertise in mechanical systems, engines, electrical components, and hydraulic systems. They are also responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of heavy trucks by inspecting, diagnosing issues, and executing necessary repairs.</p><p></p><p>Job Description:</p><p>Heavy Truck Maintenance and Repair:</p><ul><li><ul><li><br />Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and replacements to ensure optimal performance and longevity of heavy trucks.</li><li><br />Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.</li><li>Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and suspension components.</li><li>Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems and perform preventive maintenance measures.</li></ul></li></ul><p></p><p>Diagnostic and Problem-Solving:</p><ul><li><ul><li><br />Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify and analyze complex issues in heavy truck systems.</li><li>Interpret diagnostic codes, test results, and technical manuals to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical problems.</li><li>Develop effective repair strategies and recommend the most efficient and cost-effective solutions.</li></ul></li></ul><p>Compliance with Regulations:</p><ul><li><ul><li><br />Adhere to all relevant safety regulations, codes, and heavy truck repair and maintenance </li><li><br />Ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations, including emissions standards and workplace safety regulations.</li><li><br />Keep up to date with industry advancements, new technologies, and regulation changes to maintain compliance.</li></ul></li></ul><p>Documentation and Record-Keeping:</p><ul><li><ul><li><br />Maintain accurate and detailed records of all heavy truck inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed.</li><li>Complete service reports, work orders, and other documentation to record the work done and parts used.</li><li>Provide clear and concise reports to supervisors and clients regarding the condition of heavy trucks and recommended repairs.</li></ul></li></ul><p>Team Collaboration and Communication:</p><ul><li><ul><li><br />Collaborate with other mechanics, technicians, and team members to share knowledge, expertise, and best practices.</li><li>Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and colleagues to provide updates on repairs, estimated timelines, and costs.</li><li>Provide guidance and support to apprentices and junior mechanics when<br><br></li></ul></li></ul><p>Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Completion of a heavy truck mechanic apprenticeship program or equivalent</li><li>Valid 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician license issued by the Ontario College of Trades</li><li>Strong knowledge of heavy truck systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical, and hydraulic systems.</li><li>Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, software, and</li><li>Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic</li><li>Excellent problem-solving and analytical</li><li>Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with</li><li>Effective communication and interpersonal</li><li>Physical stamina and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including working in various weather conditions.</li></ul><p></p><p>Why work with YORK1?</p><p>Our employees are essential in helping us achieve our mission of providing exceptional service and innovative solutions through our infrastructure and environmental services to some of Ontario's largest commercial and residential projects.
