<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>Salary: $35.05/hr<br /><p>Employment Type: Full Time Union <br />Business Unit:Trio Ready Mix<br />Location:Victoria, British Columbia<br />Reporting to:Operations Manager </p><p><br />Trio Ready Mix, a Ralmax Group of Companies, has an exciting and immediate opening for a full-time Concrete Ready-Mix Driver in Victoria. The Concrete Ready-Mix Driver delivers concrete to industrial, commercial, and residential construction job sites in a timely manner. </p><p><br /></p><p><strong>What we offer:</strong></p><p><br /></p><ul><li><br />Competitive base pay</li><li><br />Comprehensive benefits package</li><li><br />Pension</li><li><br />Health and wellness programs<br /></li></ul><p><br /></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><br /></p><ul><li>Deliver concrete to the customer in a timely manner and provide excellent customer service</li><li>Work closely with dispatch to ensure quickest and safest route to jobs</li><li>Maintain vehicle in a clean, organized, and safe fashion and perform routine maintenance</li><li>Observe and follow all safety precautions and rules specified by site, city, provincial, federal and Company regulations</li><li>Work around plant and operate equipment as needed</li><li>Operate a Ready Mix Truck in urban areas and tight construction sites</li><li>Contribute to keeping locations in and around the plant clean and hazardous free</li><li>Perform pre and post-trip safety check on equipment daily to ensure safe operation.</li></ul><ul></ul><ul></ul><p><br /></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><p><br /><strong>Education and Experience:</strong></p><p><br /></p><ul><li>The ability to drive standard or manual transmission is essential</li><li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred</li><li>Experience safely driving heavy trucks for 3 or more years.</li><li>Demonstrated communication and problem-solving skills while working with customers.</li><li>Solid knowledge of local and provincial transportation regulations and trucking routes.</li><li>Basic mechanical knowledge or skill for minor preventative maintenance and pre-shift inspections</li><li>An understanding of concrete products </li><li>City driving experience and geographical knowledge of the Greater Victoria area<br /></li></ul><p><br /></p><p><strong>Knowledge and Skills:</strong></p><p><br /></p><ul><li><br />Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions</li><li><br />Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment</li><li><br />Ability to follow all Company policies and procedures, including safety</li><li><br />Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times</li><li><br />Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and/or supervisors with other duties as required</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><p><br /></p><ul><li><br />Must have a current and valid Class 1 or 3 Driver's License with air endorsement</li><li><br />Must provide a clean drivers abstract</li><li><br />Must be willing to work overtime as required, as well as nights and weekends when necessary</li><li><br />Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time, able to lift and assemble concrete chutes weighing 50 lbs, kneel, climb ladders, and walk on varied terrain</li><li><br />Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.</li><li><br />Hazards associated with the trade</li><li><br />Work both indoors and outdoors</li><li><br />Must be eligible to work in Canada</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Application Process:</strong></p><p></p><p>We welcome applications from all backgrounds and cultures to join our team(includingself-identifying Indigenous, status, non-status, Metis, and Inuit and non-<span >Indigenouscultures).</span> If you have any questions regarding this position or applying for the position, please reach out and email us at:hr@ralmax.com.
