The Northern Health Region is currently seeking a 0.8 full-time equivalent (FTE) Obstetrician/Gynecologist to practice in Thompson, Manitoba. The position combines a clinical and operative practice with an on-call component. We strive to be an employer of choice who ensure that Medical Staff maintain a healthy work-life balance. The Northern Health Region is geographically the largest of the five Regional Health Authorities in the province of Manitoba and has a population of 72,000 people spread over 396,000 km², resulting in a population density of 0.18 persons per km². Mining, hydro-electric development, forestry, commercial fishing, trapping, transportation and tourism are the major industries in the Region.
Qualifications
The candidate:
- Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba
- Candidates with Royal College Certification are preferred
- Practice Ready Assessment Specialty (PRA-SP) eligible candidates who have secured provisional registration from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba may be considered (letter of eligibility will be required with application)
Generous remuneration with guaranteed income through alternative funding as per the Doctor's Manitoba Collective Agreement.
Practice Location:
This position is located at the Thompson General Hospital and Northern Consultation Clinic in Thompson, Manitoba. The City of Thompson, known as the “Hub of the North”, is located 740 kilometers north of Winnipeg, and serves as the regional trade and service centre of Northern Manitoba. With a population of approximately 15,000 residents, Thompson boasts all of the amenities of an urban centre as well as the beauty of the surrounding lakes and Boreal Forest.
