<p><h3>Project Engineer - Substations</h3>
<p>Stantec is looking for a Project Engineer to work on high voltage substation projects across North America.</p>
<h3>Your Opportunity</h3>
<p>Join our Western Canadian Power Delivery team and play a pivotal role in designing and delivering HV/EHV AC and DC substation projects.</p>
<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Work closely with Project Managers to manage the scope, schedule, and cost of projects.</li>
<li>Identify and manage project technical risks.</li>
<li>Act as project technical lead to coordinate with internal engineering teams, clients, and third party stakeholders.</li>
<li>Lead and coordinate internal engineering teams for design reviews, vendor drawing reviews, and QA.</li>
<li>Develop design plans, strategies, schedules and resource planning for engineering activities.</li>
<li>Coordinate development of technical documents such as specifications, drawings and reports.</li>
<li>Support construction management, engineering, and procurement during construction and testing phases.</li>
<li>Assist in preparing proposals, project plans and estimates.</li>
<li>Follow internal QA/QC procedures to deliver high quality engineering services.</li>
<li>Conduct site visits to verify existing installation, define scopes, prepare detailed designs and provide construction site supports.</li>
<li>May be required to conduct detailed engineering work such as design, specifications, and studies.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Capabilities and Credentials</h3>
<ul>
<li>Field experience in commissioning and testing is an asset.</li>
<li>Proven knowledge in Geotechnical, Civil/Structural, P&C, SCADA, Telecom, Mechanical, and Architectural is an asset.</li>
<li>Equipment engineering experience is an asset.</li>
<li>Excellent computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.</li>
<li>Effective interpersonal skills (written & verbal) are essential.</li>
<li>Demonstrated capability to efficiently handle multiple tasks simultaneously.</li>
<li>Holding a valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver’s license.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Education and Experience</h3>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power System; minimum 8 years of experience as a Project Engineer related to high voltage substations.</li>
<li>6 years of direct experience on physical design of high voltage (69kV and above) substation projects is required.</li>
<li>Professional Engineer registered with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC), or related association in Canada.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Work Environment</h3>
<p>Typical office environment working with computers; hybrid work model (office and home). Field work may include exposure to inclement weather.</p>
<h3>Pay Range</h3>
<ul>
<li>Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC – $89,200.00 – $129,300.00 Annually</li>
<li>Locations in Lower Mainland - BC – $94,600.00 – $137,100.00 Annually</li>
</ul>
