<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>A well-established real estate group is seeking a Property Accountant to join its growing property management division. With the business having rapidly expanded in recent years—and further portfolio growth expected—this is a great time to join a collaborative, well-supported team in a role that offers long-term stability, variety, and a positive workplace culture.<br><br><strong>About the Role<br /></strong>Reporting to the head of accounting for the property management division, you&#39;ll manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties, including industrial, office, and retail assets. You’ll take ownership of monthly reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and tenant-related accounting functions, while working closely with experienced controllers and colleagues who value process and precision.<br><br><strong>What You’ll Do</strong><ul><li>Manage full-cycle property accounting for a portfolio of commercial real estate assets</li><li>Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, accruals, and variance analysis</li><li>Handle tenant billing, recoveries, and lease-related reconciliations</li><li>Support annual budgeting processes and assist with forecast updates</li><li>Liaise with property managers and stakeholders to resolve accounting queries</li><li>Participate in year-end processes and audit preparation</li><li>Assist with onboarding new properties and adapting processes for growth</li></ul><strong>What You Bring</strong><ul><li>3–5+ years of experience in property accounting within commercial real estate</li><li>Strong understanding of industrial, retail, and/or office property accounting</li><li>Ability to manage multiple properties with varying lease complexities</li><li>Strong Excel skills and familiarity with property management systems</li><li>Detail-oriented, well-organized, and proactive with minimal supervision</li><li>CPA designation is not required; hands-on experience is prioritized</li><li>Comfortable working independently and as part of a team</li><li>Experience with budgeting and tenant reconciliations is a strong asset</li></ul><strong>Why Join<br /></strong>This is a stable and people-focused environment that supports work-life balance and values strong performers.
