<p><b>Job Title: Python Developer/DevOps Developer - SDLC Tools</b></p><p><b>Location:</b> Calgary, Alberta, Canada (<b>Day 1 Onsite</b>)</p><p><b>Local candidates preferred</b></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Client is seeking a <b>hands-on developer</b> to join the Firmwide Developer Tools and Systems Group (<b>MSDE</b>). MSDE is responsible for shaping the <b>Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)</b> within Morgan Stanley by implementing the tools, systems, and processes used by <b>12,000+ developers</b> across the firm for software development and deployment.</p><p><br></p><p>The candidate will be part of a <b>global team of experts</b> modernizing the Firm's SDLC platform to enable <b>deployment automation</b> to private/public cloud environments and <b>SaaS-based tooling</b>. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to <b>next-generation development and deployment tooling</b> across diverse technology stacks.</p><p>Prior financial industry experience is <b>not required</b>-candidates from software companies are welcome</p><p><br></p><p><b>Skills Required:</b></p><ul><li>5+ years of <b>hands-on development experience in Python</b>.</li><li>(Additional experience with <b>Java, C#, or TypeScript</b> is an asset.)</li><li>Strong technical background and passion for <b>SDLC tooling and processes</b>.</li><li>Experience with multiple <b>SCM systems</b>, <b>code review systems</b>, <b>issue tracking tools</b>, <b>build tools</b>, <b>test frameworks</b>, <b>code quality tools</b>, <b>CI systems</b>, and <b>IDEs</b>.</li><li>Experience working as a <b>developer on large-scale projects</b> in an <b>Agile, globally distributed environment</b>.</li><li>Curious and investigative mindset - "gets to the bottom of things."</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Skills Desired:</b></p><ul><li>Experience developing tools for:</li><li><b>Build automation</b></li><li><b>Version control (Bitbucket, GitHub)</b></li><li><b>Issue tracking (Jira)</b></li><li><b>CI/CD (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)</b></li><li><b>Deployment orchestration</b> using <b>Terraform</b>, <b>Ansible</b>, or related technologies.</li><li>Integration experience with <b>Azure</b> or <b>AWS</b> for development and deployment tools.</li><li><b>Containerization</b> experience using <b>Docker</b> and <b>Kubernetes</b>.</li><li><b>System administration</b> experience on <b>Linux or Windows</b> environments.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Minimum Skills Required (5+ years):</b></p><ul><li>Hands-on <b>Python development experience</b>.</li><li>Familiarity with multiple <b>SDLC and DevOps tools</b>.</li><li>Proven ability to work in <b>Agile, distributed teams</b>.</li><li>Strong collaboration and analytical skills.</li></ul><p></p>
