Human Resources Manager Location : Montreal East – fully onsite
Salary: $110,000 to $125,000 Industry: Transportation & industrial manufacturing sector Key Responsibilities:
Manage labour relations: act as the first point of contact for HR issues, handle grievances, conduct internal investigations, support supervisors, and interpret the collective agreement.
Promote a positive and fair workplace culture, ensure proper application of internal policies, and manage employee departures (exit interviews, documentation, internal communication).
Develop and lead programs focused on skills development, employee engagement, and DEI initiatives.
Manage the full recruitment cycle for salaried positions: postings, screening, interviews, offers, and partnerships with educational institutions.
Coordinate onboarding for new employees and support managers with performance management, coaching, and action plans.
Contribute to training initiatives, analyze organizational challenges, and recommend solutions.
Oversee and optimize HR service center processes: employee files, payroll, benefits, leaves, compliance, employee assistance programs, hiring and offboarding.
Supervise the HR team, set objectives, support their development, and foster a respectful and inclusive work environment.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Organizational Behaviour, Human Resources, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years of generalist HR experience, ideally in a unionized environment (manufacturing or similar).
Supervisory experience is an asset.
Excellent command of French and English.
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) and experience with an ATS is an asset.
Proven ability to manage conflicts, influence, and communicate effectively at all levels.
Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Professional discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
Ability to work independently in a dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment.
Availability for occasional travel and ability to operate safely in an industrial environment.
