With a small, capable team and a strong reputation among general contractors and property managers, the company emphasizes autonomy, technical excellence, and clean, professional installations.</p><strong>About the Role</strong><p>As a Security Systems Technician – Low Voltage / Access Control, you will play a key role in delivering commercial and multifamily security projects with minimal supervision. This position is designed for a technician who is independent, technically strong, and confident running projects end-to-end without constant oversight. You'll work on short-duration, well-scoped projects while collaborating with general contractors, subtrades, building managers, and commercial clients. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy, problem-solving, and pride in workmanship.</p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><ul><li><p>Install and service low-voltage security systems including access control, CCTV, and <span >intercom/enterphone</span> systems</p></li><li><p>Program, initialize, and troubleshoot backend system components</p></li><li><p>Plan cable routes; pull wire; terminate devices; label and document installations</p></li><li><p>Read manuals, interpret installation guides, and configure equipment correctly</p></li><li><p>Work safely indoors and outdoors, including ladder and scissor lift use</p></li><li><p>Operate effectively in active construction environments</p></li><li><p>Provide basic client training during system handover</p></li><li><p>Perform service calls (experience strongly preferred)</p></li><li><p>Coordinate with the lead technician for estimating and invoicing support (administrative responsibility remains with lead tech)</p></li><li><p>Represent the company professionally on commercial job sites</p></li><li><p>Maintain clean, organized, and code-compliant installations</p></li></ul><strong>Requirements</strong><ul><li><p>Security Worker / Security Systems Technician License (BC) – required</p></li><li><p>Valid Class 5 Drivers License – required</p></li><li><p>Minimum 3+ years of experience as a security or low-voltage technician</p></li><li><p>Proven ability to troubleshoot systems independently</p></li><li><p>Strong wire-pulling skills and confident tool handling</p></li><li><p>Basic electrical knowledge, including conduit, EMT bending, and fitting strikes</p></li><li><p>Ability to plan cable runs and build backend systems</p></li><li><p>Comfortable problem-solving mid-install without constant supervision</p></li><li><p>Physically capable of wire pulls, ladder work, and equipment handling</p></li></ul><strong><strong>Assets (Not Required but Highly Valued):</strong></strong><ul><li><p>Alarm ticket</p></li><li><p>Journeyman Electrician certification</p></li><li><p>Experience with:</p><ul><li><p>Access Control: Keyscan, ICT, CDVI, Kantech</p></li><li><p>Intercom/Entry: Mircom, Enterphone, SES TEC</p></li><li><p>CCTV: HikVision, Hanwha, Panasonic, GeoVision</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Service work experience (major bonus)</p></li><li><p>Conduit experience</p></li></ul><strong>What We Offer</strong><ul><li><p>Hourly pay of $36–$42, based on experience</p></li><li><p>Take-home company vehicle with gas and insurance covered</p></li><li><p>Tools provided, including pipe bender, drill, and specialty tools</p></li><li><p>8-hour shifts with flexible start and finish times</p></li><li><p>Two (2) weeks paid vacation to start</p></li><li><p>Team-focused culture with breakfasts, beers, and team events</p></li><li><p>Supportive, learning-focused environment with continuing education</p></li><li><p>Benefits introduced Q1 2026</p></li><li><p>Stable project flow with consistent scopes and repeatable installs</p></li><li><p>Opportunity to grow into a highly autonomous, trusted technician role</p></li></ul></p></p>Create Your Resume First
