<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><strong>About the Role</strong><br><br>We&#39;re looking for a <strong>Senior Backend Engineer</strong> with deep fintech experience to join our core engineering team. You&#39;ll be responsible for building and scaling the critical payment infrastructure, ledger systems, and financial APIs that power our platform. This is a backend-focused role where you&#39;ll work on high-stakes financial systems processing millions of dollars in transactions daily.<br><br>You&#39;ll work closely with our CTO and engineering team to architect reliable, compliant, and scalable financial systems that our users depend on for their most important payments.<br><br><strong>In this role, you’ll:</strong><ul><li>Build and scale backend services using <strong>NestJS</strong> and <strong>TypeScript</strong> on <strong>Google Cloud Platform</strong></li><li>Design and maintain robust <strong>ledger systems</strong> and financial data models using <strong>Google Cloud SQL</strong> and <strong>PostgreSQL</strong></li><li>Architect and optimize <strong>payment processing pipelines</strong> handling large transaction volumes</li><li>Integrate with <strong>financial APIs</strong>, payment processors, and banking systems while ensuring <strong>PCI compliance</strong></li><li>Build resilient <strong>microservices</strong> with <strong>PubSub</strong> for event-driven architecture</li><li>Manage infrastructure as code using <strong>Terraform</strong> and GCP services</li><li>Own critical financial systems end-to-end, from design to production monitoring</li><li>Collaborate with product and compliance teams to ship secure, compliant financial features</li></ul><br><br><strong>You’re someone who:</strong><ul><li>Has <strong>4+ years of backend engineering experience</strong>, with <strong>2+ years in fintech</strong> or payments</li><li>Is expert-level with <strong>NestJS/Node.js</strong> and <strong>TypeScript</strong> for building production APIs</li><li>Has hands-on experience with <strong>ledger systems</strong>, double-entry bookkeeping, or financial data modeling</li><li>Has scaled backend systems handling <strong>high transaction volumes</strong> (millions of <span >transactions/month)</span></li><li>Is proficient with <strong>PostgreSQL</strong>, database optimization, and <strong>Google Cloud Platform</strong></li><li>Has experience with <strong>payment processing</strong>, financial APIs, and regulatory compliance (PCI, SOC 2, etc.)</li><li>Brings strong ownership to critical systems and thrives in a high-stakes fintech environment</li><li>Communicates clearly about complex technical and financial concepts</li></ul><br><br><strong>Required experience:</strong><ul><li><strong>Fintech/payments industry</strong> experience with large-scale transaction processing</li><li><strong>Ledger systems</strong> or accounting system development</li><li><strong>Financial API integrations</strong> (payment processors, banks, card networks)</li><li><strong>Database design</strong> for financial systems and audit trails</li><li><strong>GCP services</strong> (Cloud SQL, PubSub, Cloud Run, etc.)</li></ul><br /><strong>Nice-to-haves:</strong><ul><li>Experience with <strong>Terraform</strong> for infrastructure management</li><li><strong>PCI DSS</strong> compliance and security framework experience</li><li><strong>Real-time payment systems</strong> or instant settlement experience</li><li>Previous experience at <strong>high-growth fintech</strong> companies</li><li><strong>Open banking</strong> or <strong>financial data aggregation</strong> experience</li></ul></p></p>
