Youll play a key role in ensuring our clients rugged products meet performance, reliability, and compliance standards before they reach the field.</p><p><br /></p><p>Position Overview</p><p>The Test, Validation & Verification Engineer is responsible for planning, developing, and executing comprehensive test programs for ruggedized mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems. This role involves hands-on testing, data analysis, and documentation to verify compliance with design requirements and applicable standards.</p><p><br /></p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><p>Test Planning & Design</p><ul><li>Develop test and validation plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria aligned with product specifications, regulatory, and environmental requirements (e.g., MIL-STD, DO-160, IEC, ASTM).</li><li>Collaborate with design engineers to define test objectives and methods for mechanical, electrical, and thermal performance.</li><li>Select and specify appropriate test equipment, instrumentation, and fixtures.</li></ul><p>Execution & Analysis</p><ul><li>Conduct or oversee mechanical, thermal, vibration, shock, ingress protection, and environmental stress testing.</li><li>Support electrical and functional verification testing as required.</li><li>Record, analyze, and interpret test data to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes.</li><li>Document test results and prepare detailed technical reports and validation summaries.</li></ul><p>Process & Quality</p><ul><li>Ensure testing follows established safety, calibration, and quality procedures (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.).</li><li>Support continuous improvement in test processes, tooling, and data collection.</li><li>Work closely with clients to define verification approaches and communicate progress and results.</li></ul><p>Cross-Functional Collaboration</p><ul><li>Interface with product design, manufacturing, and reliability teams to support design for testability and qualification readiness.</li><li>Participate in design reviews and provide feedback based on test outcomes and field performance data.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Qualifications</p><p>Education & Experience</p><ul><li>Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).</li><li>35 years of experience in test, validation, or verification of ruggedized or mission-critical systems.</li><li>Familiarity with standards such as MIL-STD-810, DO-160, IEC 60068, or equivalent.</li></ul><p>Technical Skills</p><ul><li>Experience with environmental and durability testing (vibration, thermal cycling, shock, humidity, IP testing).</li><li>Proficiency with data acquisition systems (NI, LabVIEW, Dewesoft, or similar).</li><li>Strong analytical and reporting skills using Excel, MATLAB, or equivalent tools.</li><li>Understanding of mechanical design principles and electrical interfaces preferred.</li></ul><p>Soft Skills</p><ul><li>Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to problem solving.</li><li>Excellent communication skills for client interaction and documentation.</li><li>Collaborative mindset with a focus on meeting client performance and reliability goals.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>What We Offer</p><ul><li>A collaborative, innovative environment with a team of passionate engineers and designers.</li><li>Opportunities to work on diverse, challenging projects for world-class clients.</li><li>Competitive compensation and benefits package.</li><li>Professional development and growth opportunities.</li></ul><p></p><p>Salary Range:</p><ul><li>$80k-$120k</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Benefits:</p><ul><li>Drug, Dental and Life Insurance</li><li>3 weeks Vacation</li><li>3 floater days/paid time off (applied in December)</li></ul><p></p><p>Schedule:</p><ul><li>37.5 Hour Work Week</li><li>Monday to Friday</li></ul><p></p><p>Work Location:</p><ul><li>Kanata, ON</li></ul></p></p>Create Your Resume First
