Job Description
<p>KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p><p>Typical working hours will be evenings, 1-9pm, Monday to Friday. However, as the facility operates 24/7/365, shifts may be changed based on needs and could include weekends and holidays.</p><p>Under the general supervision of the Facilities Supervisor:</p><ul><li>Completes maintenance duties on a wide range of equipment and systems including air handlers, pumps, motors, chillers and boilers</li><li>Responds to HVAC issues/complaints and sees through resolution</li><li>Utilizes building automation system as needed</li><li>Minor patching and painting duties</li><li>Completes minor electrical and plumbing work</li><li>Maintains required inventory of essential parts</li><li>Assists other trades and maintenance generalists as needed</li><li>Responsible to recognize and report patient, staff, and environmental safety issues, identify and implement preventative and corrective actions, within the scope of this role</li><li>Other related duties as</li></ul><p>STAFFING & LICENSING REQUIREMENTS</p><ul><li>Successful completion of one or more of: Building Environmental Systems (BES), Building Operator Certification (BOC), or BOMI Systems Maintenance Technician (SMT)</li><li>Preference for trade certification(s) in a relevant area: gas fitter, electrician, plumber, carpenter, locksmith or other</li><li>Hands-on experience in a multi-faceted maintenance role, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting</li></ul><p>SKILLS:</p><ul><li>Working knowledge of HVAC/R systems</li><li>Working knowledge of building automation systems</li><li>Ability to perform physical demands of the position and maintain good attendance</li><li>Solid computer skills required</li><li>Ability to layout work and schedule jobs</li><li>Ability to read blueprints</li><li>Enhanced problem-solving skills required</li><li>Ability to interact professionally with all staff, clients and visitors to the facility</li><li>Ability to work under minimal supervision</li><li>Ability to work within a structured preventative maintenance system and make recommendations for upgrading the system as necessary</li><li>Maintain all assigned tools and equipment in good working order.</li></ul><p>FREEDOM OF ACTION</p><ul><li>Works in accordance with established maintenance techniques and procedures, and within applicable maintenance and service requirements of systems and equipment</li><li>Selects correct methods of repair and tools required when performing work</li><li>Refers matters not covered by procedures to supervisor for clarification/guidance.</li></ul><p>Link to OPSEU Wage Table-This is part of OPSEU bargaining unit.</p><p>Number of vacancy 1</p><p>Job Posting Closing: November 25th 2025 at midnight.
