Associate Lawyer, Commercial Litigation

Is a respected Toronto litigation boutique with a strong commercial litigation practice and a hands-on, in-office mentorship model.


Responsibilities

  • Handle a variety of commercial litigation matters, including securities, competition, and general civil litigation
  • Work closely with partners in a collaborative, mentorship-driven environment
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
  • Appear in court for procedural matters and hearings, as appropriate
  • Support litigation strategy and trial preparation
  • Take on responsibility early, with close guidance and mentorship from partners


Job Details

  • Full-time position based in Toronto
  • In-office presence expected most days, with flexibility for occasional work from home
  • The firm emphasizes mentorship, learning, and long-term associate development


Requirements

  • Approximately 1 to 6+ years of call (flexible depending on fit and trajectory)
  • Solid foundation in commercial and/or general litigation
  • Strong drafting skills and ability to quickly get up to speed on unfamiliar matters
  • Proactive, self-starting mindset and comfort managing a varied workload
  • Strong communication skills and team-oriented approach
  • Demonstrated interest in building a long-term litigation practice, with partner-track potential
