With a diverse and dynamic team of professionals, we prioritize excellence, compliance, and employee engagement in everything we do.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p>We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented <strong>Payroll Manager</strong> to oversee the accurate and timely administration of payroll and employee benefits programs across both the <strong>United States and Canada</strong>. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local regulations while maintaining confidentiality and integrity of employee information. The Payroll Manager will also serve as the <strong>Workday system subject matter expert</strong>, ensuring efficient workflows, accurate reporting, and optimized use of payroll and HRIS capabilities.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Payroll Administration</strong></p><ul><li>Manage end-to-end payroll processing for 800 employees across the U.S. and Canada, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.</li><li>Maintain compliance with <strong>federal, state, and provincial payroll legislation</strong>, tax regulations, and reporting requirements (IRS, CRA, state/province authorities).</li><li>Administer payroll adjustments including bonuses, overtime, deductions, and terminations.</li><li>Lead year-end payroll processes, including W-2s, T4s, and other statutory filings.</li><li>Partner with Finance on reconciliations, audits, and payroll reporting.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>HRIS / Workday Management</strong></p><ul><li>Serve as the <strong>Workday payroll and benefits subject matter expert</strong>, responsible for configuration, troubleshooting, and process improvements.</li><li>Maintain accurate employee data, reporting structures, and benefits elections in Workday.</li><li>Develop and deliver payroll/benefits reporting and analytics to HR leadership and Finance.</li><li>Partner with HR and IT teams to implement new modules, updates, or integrations.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Leadership & Compliance</strong></p><ul><li>Provide leadership, training, and guidance to payroll/benefits team members.</li><li>Ensure payroll and benefits policies are documented, up-to-date, and aligned with company and legal standards.</li><li>Lead internal and external payroll audits, responding to auditor and government inquiries.</li><li>Continuously monitor for process improvements and recommend enhancements to systems and workflows.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field. (Preferred)</li><li><strong>3+ years of payroll and benefits experience</strong> with direct exposure to both <strong>U.S. and Canadian payroll</strong>.</li><li><strong>Strong proficiency with Workday</strong> payroll and HRIS systems required.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of <strong>U.S. and Canadian payroll legislation, benefits administration, and tax reporting</strong>.</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with employees at all levels.</li><li>Experience managing vendors, brokers, and external auditors.</li><li>Certifications such as <strong>Certified Payroll Manager (CPM)</strong>, <strong>Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP)</strong>, or U.S. <strong>CPP (Certified Payroll Professional)</strong> an asset.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Pay Range: $80K-100K CAD</p><p></p>
