Position Overview
Reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Operations, the Talent Acquisition Lead is responsible for executing the end‑to‑end hiring process across Steelcon. This role focuses on sourcing, coordinating, and moving candidates efficiently through the recruitment process so open roles are filled without unnecessary delays or disruption to the business. This is a hands‑on execution role. Success is measured by speed, quality, organization, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
Hiring Execution
- Own the full recruitment lifecycle from approved requisition to accepted offer
- Source and screen candidates for hourly, salaried, and skilled roles across Steelcon
- Maintain a steady pipeline of qualified candidates for recurring and hard‑to‑fill roles
- Conduct initial screenings to assess qualifications, experience, and role fit
- Partner with hiring managers to clarify role requirements and hiring timelines
- Keep managers informed and accountable throughout the hiring process
- Coordinate interviews, gather feedback, and drive timely hiring decisions
- Ensure roles move forward once approvals are in place
Process & Coordination
- Manage interview scheduling and candidate communications
- Track candidates, stages, and next steps to prevent stalls or dropped handoffs
- Prepare and issue offers using approved templates and guidelines
- Ensure hiring activity is organized, documented, and consistent
Candidate Experience
- Act as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the process
- Provide clear communication and timely updates
- Ensure all candidates experience a professional, respectful, and responsive process
- Represent Steelcon positively in all interactions
Campus & Co‑op Recruitment
- Own Steelcon’s co‑op and early‑career recruitment program, including hiring cycles, postings, and candidate selection
- Build and maintain relationships with colleges, universities, and technical programs
- Coordinate onboarding and placement of co‑op students across the business in partnership with hiring managers
- Track performance and identify high‑potential co‑op talent for future full‑time opportunities
- Identify bottlenecks or recurring issues in the hiring process
- Suggest practical improvements to increase speed and consistency
- Partner with HR leadership to improve hiring tools, templates, and workflows
Other
- Assist with HR projects and initiatives (outside of recruitment) as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Post‑secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in recruiting or talent acquisition
- Experience recruiting for industrial, manufacturing, construction, or technical roles strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and follow‑through skills
- Ability to manage multiple roles and priorities simultaneously
- Clear, confident communicator with candidates and leaders
- Comfortable driving timelines and holding others accountable
- Practical, solutions‑focused mindset
- Strong attention to detail
Working Conditions
- Primary office location with travel to production facilities as required
- Fast‑paced environment with close interaction with operations leaders
