<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Materials Manager</strong><br />Woodbridge, ON<br />Manufacturing <br />Competitive salary of $75,000–$90,000 based on experience, plus bonus, benefits</p><p></p><p>Our client, a well-established manufacturer serving diverse industrial and commercial markets, is seeking a <strong>Materials Manager</strong> to oversee inventory control, procurement, and supply chain coordination across its production operations. This leadership role is instrumental in ensuring materials are sourced, tracked, and delivered efficiently to support seamless production flow. The ideal candidate will balance strategic planning with hands-on team management, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement in materials management.</p><p><strong>The Role:</strong></p><ul><li>Oversee all materials planning, purchasing, and distribution activities to ensure consistent production support and on-time delivery.</li><li>Manage and maintain optimal inventory levels, implementing effective inventory systems such as MRP, Kanban, or Just-in-Time.</li><li>Source and negotiate with suppliers, maintaining reliable relationships and ensuring material quality and cost efficiency.</li><li>Lead and mentor a small materials team, promoting engagement, growth, and strong communication across departments.</li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Scheduling, and Engineering to align material availability with production schedules.</li><li>Utilize ERP/MRP systems to ensure data accuracy, traceability, and efficient materials flow.</li><li>Track vendor performance and quality metrics, addressing non-conformances and supporting ongoing improvement initiatives.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing waste, improving accuracy, and increasing operational efficiency.</li><li>Ensure compliance with internal policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards.</li><li>Prepare reports and forecasts to support decision-making and monitor key supply chain performance indicators.</li></ul><p><strong>The Ideal Candidate:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor&#39;s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related discipline is an asset</li><li>Minimum <strong>5 years of experience</strong> in materials, inventory, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.</li><li>1+ years of demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing small teams or cross-functional groups.</li><li>Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel proficiency for analysis and forecasting.</li><li>Proven skills in supplier management, negotiation, and cost optimization.</li><li>Strategic thinker with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.</li><li>Experience implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies (asset).</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across departments.</li><li>Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production setting.</li></ul><p>JobID #16815862</p></p></p>
